Will the Scotland Six Nations 2026 squad be the one to break the third-place ceiling?

A Scotland Six Nations squad has never finished higher than third since the tournament expanded in 2000. Head coach Gregor Townsend will be hoping the 2026 vintage can do even better, and nobody could claim he doesn’t have the players at his disposal – even after an Autumn campaign that will be remembered for near-miss defeats to New Zealand and Argentina. Indeed, any side that can call on British & Irish Lions stars Finn Russell and Huw Jones is going to be a threat.
